So many to choose from.

Hi , gonna ask some advice. See if there is any brands i might be missing or over looking.

I'm looking for best 12' sub on a 180$(shipping included) budget.
Prefer to be 750/1000 rms
dual 2's

Any suggestions? Its for a daily driver. My previous setup was a type R on 400wrms and it was decent but i want a little more if possible.
(new/used doesnt matter)
Thanks for reading.

will you also change the amp? the box?

AyZe 12-28-2008 03:10 PM

i plan on making a new box that fits the sub , of course, and as for an amp i kno a few people locally that are selling a few different ones , And my brother has a few lying around.

If new for this price it will be hard to beat a type R,but there's the CSS SD12 , also some vendor might have some specials right now, so send some PM

Can you go 15" or dual 12"?

arash89 12-28-2008 03:37 PM

was ur previous sub a singal type R 400W rms or 2

Denonite 12-28-2008 03:47 PM

type r's handle 500 watts rms, and many guys run them with a lot more. Why not just add a second type r if you want more output?

AyZe 12-28-2008 04:02 PM

I only wanna run 1 12 with dual 2ohm coils (my bad , wording)
Prev setup was a single type R
I would have liked to run more power to my type R but it got banged into in my trunk , and i didnt notice till the bass sounded "funny"....
And a 15 would need more room as would 2x 12's , its only going into a little staurn sl1.And i still need my trunk

I'd try running the single TypeR you already have on an amp that can output 600-700W. Perhaps that'll bring the output to a level you'd be satisfied with.
It'd be hard to find a quality subwoofer with an RMS rating as high as you've stated, for that amount of money. I'm using a friend's TypeR in a sealed enclosure right now. Its running at 2 ohm, and getting up to 640W from a Memphis Belle amplifier.

I assume you want a dual 2 so you can wire it for a 1 ohm load on the amp. Is your 'R' a dual 2?

My type R is dead , thats why im looking for somthing else , a bit bigger maybe . And used is perfectly fine.
