Hmmm
I got an alpine 7156 cassette din shaft, alpine 3519, and some very old alpine 5.25 co-ax (best sounding 5.25" I have ever heard). Nice finds, did you get those at a pawn shop? |
Hey that 3401 is a great piece, even out of the box. They are in great shape to.

The 3401 and 3402 are personal favorites of mine as well
|
I have the 3402 ... it's sweet and I think it''s identical to that except bigger knobs.
What'd u pay? I like the Altec even tho I would have no use for it. |
I found all of these except the Altec on Ebay. I paid $31 for the 3401, $35 for the 3656, and I traded an Alpine 6015CX sub to Nissan Guy straight across for the Altec. I originally bought the 6015 on Ebay for $90 US.
I was kinda hoping to get a 3402 and 3672, which are the same units but with the bigger knobs so a bit of an updated look but they get more money so I am happy with what I have To get those pieces new back in the early 90s, it would have cost well over $1k. |
Lucky bugger.

If my memory serves, the 3402 also may have had isolated ground on the RCAs and/or switching power supply. The 3401 is definitely not, that's for sure (personal "whine" experience) :D
3401 is still a great piece. And yes, "you lucky bugger" - my 3401 cost $700 new! |
3401 makes some noise eh? Hmmmmm.....that may not be good.
|
Can't take a very hot signal either from what I remember (less than 1 volt it clips I thought I read in Autosound 2000 TB).
