someone help before i give up on audio

as some of you will know ive had problems with some f***ing popping noise from my sub, and i just made another box for it my 3rd now. and ive tried playing around with the amp and deck settings and i constantly get that god dam noise im so frusterated even with gain and bb on min on the amp i still get it. i NEVER had problems like this with my type r. it cant be a box problem becasue i even had this with mach 5 "rec. box" my sub is wired correctly ive checked that a couple times already.

That would be an electronic issue, not enclosure. anywere from head unit to subamp. I would look into the grounds first?

kyleorsini 05-08-2009 05:48 PM

it shouldnt be a ground issue, whne i bought my ixl lnot long ago from a shop, he took apart my WHOLE trunk set up and fixed and cleaned it up my last ground was on the spare tire well and he said it was crap and moved it to the seat bolt. i trust him on that hes been doing it for over 10 years. doubt its a rca problem they are a month old and havent been screwed with so doubt there cut or anything.

maybe the sub is blown? maybe the magnet come loose or somethin? we need more info.

kyleorsini 05-08-2009 06:06 PM

subs definatly not blown i bought it brand new. its only seen maybe like 6 or 700 watts and then with voltage drops. what more info would you like

MR2NR 05-08-2009 06:12 PM

Put a different amp in, a friends amp, whatever... if the problem still persists, it is a sub issue.

kyleorsini 05-08-2009 06:14 PM

hahahha i wish mr2nr only 2 of my buddies have amps and there like 300 rms amps on low end kickers. what about if i took out the sub and wired it to 4 ohms?

kyleorsini 05-08-2009 07:26 PM

well i think ive found the problem. i have the sub inside to switch the wireing to 4ohm instead of the 1ohm and i was looking at the cone and the voice coil (yellow part im pretty sure) isnt 100% attached to the narrow part of the cone. can that be warrantied or what?????? ill take some pics but i doubt youll see much

MR2NR 05-08-2009 07:33 PM

Take the sub back, it should be able to be warrantied.

kyleorsini 05-08-2009 07:35 PM

yeah i just called my shop i got it from and left a message, i cant take a pic cuz all i have is my blackberry and when i put the phone close to the sub to take the pic the phone shuts of LMAO guess with the subs magnet it interferes or something, but that would be causing my "popping" noise correct?
