So ive got this older sony hu,its a moble es 6850 (if i remember right)excuse me just had a brain fart!
Anyway, when i turn the volume up from 0 it pops, and also when i turn it down to 0,and when i switch cd tracks or radio stations.
The deck CLAIMS to be 4 volts front rear and sub out,but it seems to take a hell of alot of gain in the sub department to sound at all good,
Are these lines most likely "pooched"

TIA mike

Sony =

New stuff not bad, old stuff, not good.

That is a common problem, they all get it eventually, not much can be done.

So this is likely a problem with the sub out?
If so i'll try using the rear outs for my sub amp and the fronts for my two channel.
Just bought new subs so no cash for new hu yet....

G-MONEY, It's fun being an idiot, isn't it?

I'm not one to bring reproach onto Sony like others seem to do. Let's look at more logical things. Seeing that this deck is older and likely no warranty left, it might not pay to get it repaired compared to buying a new deck.

So you hear a pop noise only when going up in volume from 0 and once you go down to 0? Do you hear it just from the subs, or from the speakers too? Does the system work fine otherwise? I would say live with it until you have the money to fix or replace the HU. Did the problem start happening just after you put in the new subs? Does the problem still happen if you use a different set of pre-outs apart from sub?

Give those a try to start off.

Ya its only a sub pop, yesterday i took the rcas from the sub out and put them to the rear outs and the problem seems to be gone
I am in serious need of a new deck though,I seem to have a bad temper so when the deck wont play a cd or it skips alot the cd goes out the window
When really its the decks fault Cant wait to throw it out the window!! Thanx LOL
