Sorry for a maybe stupid question.

Could someone tell me what amp would put out more power?
(By power I mean make a 10" sub have the most SPL.)
A JBL P180.2 or a Crossfire VR1000D?
I think the JBL is 360 x 1 at 4 ohms, while the Crossfire is only 250 x 1 at 4 ohms.
So, is the only way to get more out of the Crossfire to run it at less ohms?
Any help appreciated!

ok, aside from answering your own question as to which is more powerful, reducing the resistance (ohms) will NOT make the amplifier produce more power than the manufacturer made it for.
So obviously the JBL is the better choice here.
Be careful about reducing the resistance to amplifiers, you are opening a proverbial "pandora's box" by playing with resistance.

I am kinda swaying towards the SQL, and unfortunately I only got room for a 10" with about 6" mounting depth due to vehicle size.
Think it would sound ok to just max out a 10" sub?
(I am using the JBL and a 225wrms mtx sub now, but would definately like more SPL than that provides)

What you should do is use the crossfire amp, and go buy a high quality 10" sub with dual 2ohm coils, wire it in parallel to get a load of 1ohm. Then you will have insane power running to that poor, poor sub Next you need a really good box. PORT IT!!! Tune around 32-35Hz.
So what do you drive that you only have room for one 10? Sounds like a regular cab truck.
