sound balanced componenets. Read This!!

Can someone explain to me the unequal rms rating of components. Maybe I am way off,(wouldn't surprise me), but I have a set of JBL P660c components in my truck. The tweeter rms rating is 60 watts rms and the woofers are 90 rms. Wouldn't this cause my tweeters to reach maximum volume before my woofers?? If so, seems like that would be a blended ratio of preference..

I blew my tweeters but my woofers are fine. Now I was using factory internal crossovers from the factory Bose system. I'm thinking it was probably allowing some frequencies that the designated JBL crossovers wouldn't have? But still, if your tweeter has a lower rms than woofer, wont the tweeter dominate the sound from the woofer? Would this be an advantage of bi-amping? That way you could balance the tweeter/woofer sound production to your preference???

The power handling of a speaker has zero to do with hour loud it is with XX number of watts.

Generally throughout the frequency spectrum there is less energy the higher up you go so having a tweeter with less power handling than the midrange is not an issue.

Now, using component drivers with the random crossovers the shyte Blose system has in it, THAT is an issue. One which you have unfortunately experienced.
