I have a BIG vibration prob. in my trunk and need to get rid of it. What is my best option (other then concrete) to get rid of it?

Trunk adustment [img]graemlins/dunno.gif[/img] looks as if the hing my have too much give. Id say less bass but for us junkies thats not an option now is it.

hehehe now... or you can tighten the latch that holds it down....

Too much flex in the trunk hinge... first look for loose nuts and bolts, most SPL guys have all kinds of things twist an turn and loosen. Second try something to increase the closing strength of the trunk. Third add mass to the trunk lid (doesn’t fix the problem just treats the symptom).


Story Time!
When I was doing my trunk install, one of the long poles ford uses as springs to help lift the trunk broke free from it's slot and smacked me in the forehead and almost knocked me out... ok so I am sore, PO'ed, and now depending on a trunk prop-bar to save the family jewels from a falling trunk lid. So after the same friggin bar smacks me two more times in the forehead while trying to force it into place (I don’t learn from mistakes BTW) I am completely PO'ed and rip out both spring bars.... OOPS. At this point I realize my trunk lid weighs about 45 kg... and that prop bar is really saving me from de-masculination and a long stretch on crutches!
My point: my trunk lid doesn’t shake no matter how hard my sub hits (the sub has to lift 45kg to push it off the gasket.
Second point: linear actuators do a good job of lifting trunk lids
