sound deadening
Whats a better product for sound deadening Dynamat extreme or Dynamat superlite?
|
have you looked at second skin ?
|
the only deadening product near as good as dynamat xtreme would be the second skin products.
(not taking value into account) |
Between the two...Dynamat Extreme.
Second skin is very good as well. |
Dynamat makes a damping materials, as a RULE the heavier a damping material is (mass loading) the better it damps and converts vibrational energy into heat.
There are numerous materials on the market that are good, I very much like Dynamat extreme but I happen to own second skin... for now. |
How well do both hold up to heat? Does the glue hold well that it will not lift or fall?
Recently I had some cheaper deadening material applied to my trunk lid and it has started to fall after today's little heat wave. Before this happened, the trunk sounded great. I am also interested in the two deadeners posted here. Or find some really good glue. |
just another quality that separates the knock offs from dynamat and second skin.
you will not have any issues like that with these. there is zero smell, very easy to work with, and providing you apply it to a clean surface, they will never come off in canadian weather. i don't generally advocate buying online, but to buy 72sq ft (enough to do roughly a full car) in stores will be about $6-700. you can get the dynamat xtreme on ebay for 300ish including shipping. even so, it is alot. but a better investment than most stereo components and very worthwhile. like everything. you get what you pay for. |
I just picked up 60sq feet of damplifier from second skin and shipping was $70 via USPS, along with few other things, if you ship, do it only via USPS.
Anyone know where to grab wooden roller to apply the damplifier ? |
