Does anyone know how much power a SoundStream 644S will put out with 2 channels bridged into 1ohm with 14.4volts (the other 2 channels running 4ohm stereo FYI)

I'm guessing around 400rms, but i'm hoping for more

Thanx for the link

The specs only state the voltage for 4ohm stereo (75w x 4) and the power doesn't seem to increase from 2ohm bridged to 1ohm bridged...

Has anyone tested the output?

At 1 ohm stereo they rate it as 160x4 or 320x2, so I imagine you will get 320 watts bridged into 2 ohm mono, if that is what you are wondering.

I sold both of mine... <sniff>, but I go along with Jeepbeats.
As I recall unregulated power supplies so more volts fed makes more power.
I don't think I'd run that amp with that low an impedance myself (they did get the name smokesteam for a reason). They had a run of suspect power supplies as I understand it. Very sweet sounding amps though.

Thanx for the info guys.

I'll explain a little more, I'm looking for a single amp for my speakers up front and 4 RE8's with single 4ohm coils (4ohm x1, 1ohm x1, 2ohm x2, or 8ohm x2) I have a 6 channel amp but I don't think it will do 2ohm bridged, So I could run it 4ohm stereo on all channels, but I wouldn't be using the amp to its potential.

Any suggestions?

You already have the 644S?
Heck lots of folks have done it with success .. I'd suggest some sort of forced air cooling (fan).
Worst it's gonna do is flame up... lol
I ran across a guy that said he was able to verify by serial number which amps were from the 'bad batch'.
I'll see if I can find his contact info again.
Maybe you should do some bench testing with the amp and see for yourself how it likes 1ohm.
I have a Nak PA-2004(zed audio) I'm planning on running 2x100W (4ohm stereo)+ 1 x 400W (4ohm mono).
If your interested I have 2 more of these 4x100W amps NIB

Maybe you should grab a Zed Kronos when they come out. that would fix you up nice.

How much power do those RE8"s want?

I don't have the 644S yet, i'm just looking at my options if my 6 channel won't work for this setup.

How much do you want for one of your extra Nakamichi 2004's?
