Hi!

I have acquired the following motley assortment of gear:

-Infinity Reference 6002 6.5" co-ax
-Infinity Reference 3002 3.5" co-ax
-Soundstream TSS.1 1" dome tweeters
-Audiobahn AMDQ60 6.5" midbass drivers
-Image Dynamics ID8v3 8" sub
-Sony mp3/cd deck
-Rockford Fosgate Punch 800a.4 4-channel amp
-MTX mono sub amp

(I know, I know, not the greatest gear, but it's a low-budget setup, and hopefully something to build on) ;)

I'm having trouble determining the best placement locations for SQ.

Currently, I'm thinking:
-Audiobahn midbass in front doors (powered by RF 800a.4)
-Soundstream tweeters in dash (powered by head)
-Infinity 6.5" coax in rear doors for rear fill (powered by RF 800a.4)
-Image Dynamics sub (custom sealed tube enclosure) in trunk/cargo area (it's a Jeep liberty). (powered by MTX amp)

That leaves me with no place for the 3.5" coax infinitys.

Any thoughts?
Is this the best setup, or should I put the Audiobahns in the rear, and infinity co-ax in the front doors?

Any thoughts/recommendations/advice appreciated!

Thanks!

First of all, what kind of vehicle?
Next what are your goals sound wise?

Thanks for the reply!

It's a 2002 Jeep Liberty.
I'm looking for a stealth install (though I don't mind mounting the tweets on the dash), and SQ. (I'm hoping that the ID8 sub will give me some nice bottom end, but I'm not expecting to be overwhelmed by the bass).

I also bought a bunch of b-quiet extreme deadener, and will be applying it to the doors, floor, and firewall.

i just built a fibregalss box in the passenger side rear quarter panel and it worked very well, great deep bass, your 8" should work very well in there

I would put the Infinity 6.5 in the front, Infinity 3.5 in the rear and leave out the Audiobahn midbass and Soundstream tweeters for now. Or better yet sell them and the 3.5's and get a speaker that fits the factory spot in the rear. Then spend the rest on the install.

Thanks for the suggestions!

defro13:
Can you please elaborate on the fiberglass enclosure? (Maybe with some pics ;) )
I have built a cylindrical enclosure, but if I can stealth-mount the sub in the panel, that'd be perfect.
(I've never done anything with fiberglass, so I don't know how difficult it is).

DWVW:
Why would you suggest that I ditch the tweets and midbass in favor of the infinity coaxs? I would have thought that I'd get better sound out of the comb of the audiobahn and soundstream setup in the front...(but then I'm a newbie... )

I'm new at this too and won't pretend to know it all. Personaly keep it simple.I personaly run Infinity's 6 1/2 component's up front and 5 1/4 coax's for rear fill. 99% of the time the front stage is doing all the work and the coax's are there for the ride, little to none in mid bass coming from the rear. Do the sub and get your front stage would be my sugestion too!

i took the rear passenger side 1/4 panel off and took a mold of the pocket, then built the rest of the back of the box out of mdf, then built the front baffle and continued it forward to the angle of the seat, when it was done, it didnt come out past the floor anchor, wrapped it in cinder colored carpet, 6 hours and bobs yer uncle, installed and out the door, and sounded great, didnt take any pics, thought it was kinda basic, if i vinyled it or leather or something i might have taken pics
