speaker wire power handling...?

just wondering what gauge speaker wire can handle what amount of power?? bigger is better, sure. just curious as to what's enough in most applications - components/subs.

thanks

im using 16 guage on my front speakers that are rated 110 rms and also using 16 guage for the rear ones too..

no problems what so ever.

16 gauge is fine for all.

I run 8 guage in my competition vehicle... for all other "subwoofer" duties, in daily driving cars, I use 12g...

otherwise 14-16g should be fine.

im running 8 guage in my daily driver for the sub duties which are only getting maybe 700Wrms.
is it overkill... hell yes.
does it look cool... hell yess.
16 guage is fine but 14 is better. once again length of the run also will determin which size you should choose. smaller runs can generally get by with a lesser guage of wire.

i've got 16 gauge going to my subs - 300rms each.

only about a 2 foot run...and it's just regular wire, none of this twisted oxygen free copper stuff...so is that enough you reckon??
