I've spent the past week helping my son get his SPL system installed in his mothers car and even though it sounds good with his 15" XXX sub it's not the kind of system I would want in my car.

How do I determine which sub would be the best one for a SQ system in my car?

Thanks for looking.

see your a good old SQ man

I would suggest a nice 10" sub made by any manufacturer that a reputable dealer carries.

I am how ever going to catch hell for this comment

I know a 12 or even a 15 could sound nice but I don't think it is the right choice for this person, he wants a nice clean system with little or no fuss..

So I figure maybe some more details to clarify? what is your choise of music and how much do you want to spend?

a JL 10wo is hard to beat for sound and price. or the W4's

yeah a nice 10 ported or 12 sealed would probably be good. Check out JohnyToronto's 10a in the for sale section. For a 10inch sub that thing hits low and sounds amazing doing it.

I have a couple nice 10's in a sealed box. Check my post in the FS section. They'll do both SQ and SPL nicely.

The image dynamics IDQ 10 is a fantastic sub. Sounds great in a small sealed enclosure. ^^ also mentioned above, the 10W0 is fantastic for the price. I had a 10W3 in my previous install which also sounded great.

What sort of budget are you looking at? Too many possibilities.

If you're looking at SQ subs you should consider an MB Quart PWE254 10" in a sealed enclosure. This subwoofer has a very deep and smooth base and fantastic sound...
