Sub Amp Help
I recently bought a set of 12" Alpine's one 1242D one 1243D to put into my Tiburon each is Dual 4ohm 900 peak- 300RMS I want to run both off of one amp to accomodate my custom sub box. I can get a Rockford Fosgate 600.1bd amp for a really good price but i really don't know alot when it comes to choosing amps RF 600.1 bd
RMS Power Range : 235-600 Watts Number Of Channels: 1 Low Frequency response: 20 Hz High Frequency Response: 20000 Hz Built In Crossovers: Yes Channel Separation: Yes Rated Power @ 4-Ohms: 325W x 1 RMS Rated Power @ 2-Ohms: 600W x 1 RMS I was wondering if this is a good match? Also if not if it would be possible to explain what i should look for? Incase it helps HU: PioneerIB5900 Front: Alpine type R 6.5 comp Rear: Alpine type R 6.5 comp Amp:Alpine MRV-F345 Sub:Alpine 1242D Alpine 1243D Sub Amp:(waiting) Ipod 80gbvid & Pioneer CD1200 Adapter |
Seeing as those subs will run to a 1 or 4 ohm load that amp isn't the best choice since its not 1ohm stable and only puts out a few hundred watts rms at 4ohm.
i'd look for a 1ohm stable amp or a nice 4ohm 6-700w amp |
A good basic amp is the Concept CD810, 810w rms into 1 ohm. It has proven to be a really good amp over the years. A better amp with far more power on tap is the Digital Designs M1a. This would be my choice of an amplifier.
