sub question

hey people

im kinda debating on what to install in my hatchback mustang. Ive heard that the sound has alot to do with the dimensions of the vehicle. I was thinking about 1 JL 12w3v2 reason being that I still have the 1 that used to be in my truck. it sounded good in my truck but how would it sound in a hatchback? and i still have my alpine mrp-m350 amp that i used to power the sub. So basically im just wondering if this set up with a nice custom box built for the sub would sound good and be loud in my HB. I dont wanna go out and buy all new stuff if i dont have too or on the other hand get a box built and get it all installed and not have it really sound decent and im not really wanting to be heard from blocks away with 300lbs of audio gear in the back either. Also i was even thinking of upgrading the amp to something a bit better to maybe get a bit more out of the sub. any suggestions on that or will the alpine be just fine

just looking for some opinions from you guys

thanks in advance for the help

when it was in my truck it was in a sealed box custom built by a&b sound in shawnessey in calgary, i tried to figure out the volume of the box when i took it out but its got some angles to it so i couldnt really figure out exactly what volume the box was and also i know nothing about building boxes. That sealed box cost me like $300 so im guessing that a ported box will be more

$300 for a sealed thats alot.
but that sub will work well in a vented box if you have enough room..you could build one yourself if you have access to a few wood working tools

Lightbulb

I outfitted my brother's Mustang with a single 12 back in the day and it worked very well. Vented box, 500watts or so and you should really enjoy it.

ok ive got enough opinions on the sub and i will put it in my HB mustang. Now my other question being should i get a better amp? the sub is dual 4 ohms and its rated at 300w rms and the amp is 350x1rms @ 2 ohms. Would it be worth my while to get a bigger and better amp or just stick with what i got? how much wattage can i safely put into the sub?(JL 12w3v2)

thanks
