Sub Question

I'm looking to adding subs, first time ever, and only looking to spend around $100 for a set of used ones. Would I be better off with 1 12inch or 2 10's. I have an MTX 895.5 amp that'll run 320rms at 2ohms.

I'm not looking to add another amp, just get some decent bass for a beginner system that never had it before. I will box them against the rear fenders of an Impala SS.

Would a set of MTX RT10-04's be compatable in my case or better off with something like a Kappa 12?

anything single 4 will work as well as a dual 4 will work.

I lost you... Any single 4ohm will probably work better than a dual 4ohm off the one sub channel I have on this amp?

So am I better off running a single sub at 4 then instead of 2ohms on this amp? If so then a 12 would be better than a 10 soundwise or in performance?

1 12 will take up less space and still sound good.

depends what's important to you. One 12 will take up less space, but 2 tens will have more cone area.

But will two 10's provide less performance due to the wattage being split between the two instead of 1 12incher or do I have enough wattage to push 2 older 10inch subs http://www.mtx.com/caraudio/products...ta_RT10-04.pdf

If your amp does 320Wrms @ 2 ohms on the sub channel you can use 2 svc 4 ohm subs or a single dual 4 ohm driver. This way you are using the amp to full potencial. A Clarion SRW1285 would be a perfect match and on sale :)
