which sub should i take?

im looking for a woofer that is good for low end bass and rap.
i know the box is very important and i have about 10 cft of space.

i thought of getting 2 15s.

what do you think of the alpine type R 15 or the jbl wgti 15? which would be the better choice?

budget is? no point in going for monster subs if you can't afford the amp and electrical upgrades to power them. Post more info... vehicle is, balance of system is?

the WGTI is by far one of the best sounding subs ever made
..it would be my first choice out of those
only thing is the weird coil configuration but as long as your amp can
power it you can't really go better

if you want something more amp friendly the SSA subs have awsome SQ
as well...the Icons produce some of the best low end extension and sound
really good muscally

For absolute frequency response use a sealed box (2-18's in 5 cf3 each), if not port 2-15's close to 30hz. If going the cheaper route try a ported 18" in 8 cubes. Listen to a DD before buying one, I read a 50/50 split of people that do and don't like their sound. WGTI > Type-R. 2 sealed 18's would rock.

I would recommend a couple 15" TFX's. They would be a good match for your amp and I believe in your price range. They would use most of your 10cubes and sound good. If you have a little more there is TFOne but with your power, a couple 15" TFX would sure put a smile on your face.

Otherwise, definitely WGTI before Type R. ICONs are nice also.

what is TFX?
ok so alpine is out of my choice.

what about the orion hcca? i heard they have great low end extension.
the wgti only has 20 mm xmax against the hcca with 30 mm xmax.

TFX is a scaled down version of the TFOne. I own 2 15" TFOnes and they sound great for an "SPL sub". I sent you a PM but don't think you can receive them yet. Father Yuli is the guy you'll want to talk to for them.
