well my friend just bought a 01 forester and is looking to add a lil thump in his trunk. he wants somthing that doesnt take up alot of room so i told him that a little 8" would prouble work good, but there is room for a 10". it would be powered by and Alpine MRP M200 so a dual 4 or a single 2 ohm sub is needed to get the full 200 WRMS out of it.

so what would the best sub be? SQ is what he wants. and doesnt want to spend a whole lot.

oh and he said that 6x9 subs would work, but ive never heard anything like that. is there 6x9 subs?

and last question, he would also like a new CD player where the faceplate hides by itself(like my CDA 7897) I did a little searching but came up with nothing. so is there a HU where the faceplate hides itself that can be found easily?

thanx alot inadvance.

ok well after a little thinking and looking i think i can fit his 12" type S in the back. hella lot of room back there so... still have to ask him if that be ok, i dont know how much room he is willing to sacraface tho.

but im still wondering is there a 6x9 sub? and is there any deck that hides the faceplate with a push of a button?

Cypherguy 05-01-2005 07:37 PM

what do you mean by hiding faceplate?
like the kameleon decks where they go jet black when not in use?

WD21 05-01-2005 08:03 PM

like my CDA 7897 does... its just like the LSD screens that are motorized and slide right into the deck so you cant see it at all. if that helps at all...

My Kenwood X869 has a motorized hiding faceplate. I think KW calls it D-mask or something. Mine's about 2yrs old and no problems so far.

thanx alot FEVER, i just a look at that model and think it might work, altho he doesnt really like KW but ill see what he thinks.

anywho, just wondering what sub would sound best(SQ wise):

IDQ10 D4 V.2 or...

ID10 V.3 D4

the IDQ10 D4 V.2 specs say that it works better in a smaller ported box(.75-1.00 ft^3) then the
ID10 V.3 D4. which is kinda important as he wants as much space as possible after box/sub. plus the IDQ10 D4 V.2 has a higher sensitivity...

only have 200WRMS to power them. so what do u guys think would work best? and is there any place in canada, or perfurably in winnipeg that sells ID subs?

thanx alot

I was gonna recommend rick, dealer of rammat in Nasioc(subaru club). Hes come up with a under the seat 10" sub enclosure for all 04 based imprezas/foresters. I dont know if it will fit the 01 forester though??

you can find more info here http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=25
