which subs?

Hey all. I'm in the process of picking my next subs. I stopped by at the local stereo shop and he was raving about the MTX 7500's. Can this be? I would assume that in this price range can the MTX 7500 be THE sub to go with? I'd like to know what everyone thinks...

Would type R's be a better choice? Sugestions?

THanks everyone.

I'm currently planning to run around 500-600 wrms to each. 10's or 12's I haven't decided... sub must be available in dual 2 ohm coil.

The 7500 series MTX subs are pretty solid. I dont know what kind of price your getting on them, but they are great sounding subs.

I personally havnt owned them but ive played around with some that a freind of mine had. He was running 500 rms to each sealed in an older nissan car. It slammed pretty good. nice and clean.

I've owned some 12" 5500's and i thought they were great for the price, and i fed them like 400+ rms with no problems, so i'm pretty sure mtx overbuilds there equipment a little.

but anyways, cant comment on alpine, cuz ive never used any of there stuff, hope this helped, it either did or it was a total waste of post...lol

what he said ^^^^^^^^^^

I just didn't know if they sound like bum or not.

I think the 7500s are a great driver. They don't come in dual2 though, just single and dual4.

Mat-Romain 04-11-2007 02:48 PM

yea, thats the only down side to em, i couldnt rememebr if they had dual 2's or not. Thnx Dukk.

if your looking for dual 2's you could try Fusion NV-SW12's, its a cheaper but higher end sub, i have a pair of 15's and was extremely happy with them for daily use.

if your more directed at spl, i wouldnt recomend them, unless your not concerned about keeping warrentys.

but i havnt heard the 12's so i couldnt let you know if they were on par with the 7500's tho.
