subs stink???

subs stink???

I bought a pair of bassworx 12" subs new and broke them in but it's been 6 months and they still give off a burning plastic smell when i crank up tha volume... any advice?

It's probably just glue. Plug your nose, or install "SPL odour-blocking" febreze.

yeah forsure turn the gain down a little bit, sounds like you are smelling voicecoil getting crispy.

I'll try turning my gain down and see how it goes, I'm just using a 5001d and i'm not sure about the subs they are 300watt i think

It is a promble of adjusting your gains and the design of the box....50 watts can burn a 1000 watts woofer.!!!!!
