Not really because you were bashing the customer service at JL, MTX and Alpine and again, this happens all the time, people bash something they have never tried, heard, attempted, etc...

Isn't that the new Acoustic Excellence offering with the carbon fibre cone, cast basket, dual strontium magnets, high roll surround with perimiter venting?

I can tell you that the basket behind to the right has been used for years by Eclipse in their aluminum cone series. Wonder which made in singakoreachinatiawanapore company makes the baskets.

"Why is it that some of you have created this "cult" following for these basement brand name subwoofers that are bought and assembled from a speaker parts book from overseas ? I mean you people really don't think these people are building their own baskets, cones, surrounds and voice coils do you ???"

Good question...

Well for us WE buy subs baised on performance and how much parst cost to do a re cone.. Custom coils helps out too, but we never used coils that weren't available to the public. For us in spl there are certian brands that like our installs, different subs will produce different spls in our set up. So wahtever gets us loud in our install is the subs we buy.

Looks like tumult magnet structure and a GS redline basket.....

to the left and back looks like it might be a smell-7 and that new basment brand with the miss-matched coils to the right.....

I cannot speak for anyone else, but MY reason for purchasing online is that every store I have been to in Calgary has treated me like **** (except for audioconcepts. I will likely shop there in the future if I need a brand that they carry.) Anyone know of another good brick-and-mortar in Calgary? Everyone keeps saying that "it is nice to get service up-front and in person", but so far all I have recieved is attitude.

Oh and by the way, I'm still waiting for a reply from the email I sent Pioneer three weeks ago (and resent last week).
