subwoofer break-in period?

I'm almost done building a box for my three 10" RD Classics . and now I'm wondering about the break-in period..! what does this mean really? guess I can't crank my volume to hight for a period of time but, for how long? and are there other things I should know about this (break-in period) if I wanna do it right?

thanks

20hrs for any speakers and subs. right now a fresh speaker the spider is very stiff. soo after the break in period the spider is more flexible and able to play music with more control.

you can crank if you want but it wont sound as good as 20hrs later lol. even then i wouldnt crank anyway. almost blew my older speakers because i didnt wait.

you still didnt get your subs ??lol i want to here that stuff man. btw did you run back your 4 gauge to your multi channel amps ??

breakin the sibs for about 2 days, play some lower frequencies at about half volume, loosen up the spiders. should do good after the two days

some people say a week , 20 hours of play or so but it varries with different subs

I use moderate volume till the speaker loosens up and gets some excursion going
then I slowly feed it more and more power to stretch it out....
also
when it is really cold out let the system warm up for a song before cranking it

that's good to know.! we are having cold weather right now so, I'll take it easy when I put the box in my trunk next week sometime.
