Cheers,

Still waiting for them unfortunately, they have been delivered to an address in the States which is saving me a few hundred dollars (got them on sale and shipped for free) I just havn't had time to pick them up yet, which is driving me crazy! lol.

I will be sure to let you know though

Finally got them! (Two JL 10w3v3 with JL H.O. front slot ported enclosure made specifically for these two subs and built by JL - http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/p_21654_JL_Audio_HO210G-W3v3.aspx) The ohm reading was steady at 2.3 which sort of confirmed for me that my old sub was indeed foxed. I'm half way through the break-in. They sound absolutely incredible and I am only giving them just enough that they vibrate ~1-2mm while breaking them in and even with that they are exactly what I was hoping for. Can't wait to hear what they'll sound like near 14mm although I don't think I'll ever need/want to push them that far lol!

Very clear, clean and they hit very hard and heavy. I was skeptical about getting 10's but no regrets. I will come back in a couple days when they are broken in.

They are still in the back seat, but I plan on experimenting with their location. I will need to save up for some dynamat or something though, because my trunk isn't very solid even with my old sub in there it would rattle and vibrate the plastic housing for my tail lights, and most likely some other things that I don't know about yet.

Thanks everyone for all the help!!!

maybe the probably is that the box you have has the incorrect volume for the driver you are using. I am no expert by any means, but I do know that if the volumes are incorrect you won't hear any bass, since there won't be that internal airspring. Abox that is too big will cause problems too. Another thing is are these drivers mounted upside down. That is with the motor assemblies showing. You will find that reversing the polarity of your connection wires will correct that problem. Don't buy shitty boxes already built. Always build according to the sub's spec sheet. My guess is the box is too big. Running your amp at max gain with the wrong box could cause clipping and bad news for your equipment.

When I had Xtant Type X's in my jeep I had them mounted in the box with 1 cu ft volume. When I moved up to Eclipse 8210's after the Xtant's (Expensive crap I may add) I had to increase the volume to 1.25 cu ft. I mounted my subs inverted, did some math and built a new box that is only a fraction off. This little increase requires a lot more power from my amp compared to the 1.0 cu ft.
