Subwoofer Polarity?

On my headunit I can switch the phase of my sub output, either 0 or 180 degrees.

Now, I understand what this means. Being in or out of phase, but here's my question.

I can't tell a difference between the two. Is it normal for it to sound the same? Does anyone have any opinions to which is better?

Often it makes no difference. Sometimes you will hear a hole in the upper bass/lower midbass area with it in one of the two positions because really you are trying to match it to your midbass drivers.

Yeah with the wrong polarity there can be a 'suckout' at the crossover point... man if I didnt know better Dukk might actually be a music lover instead of a bass nut :)
