I currently have a Panasonic CQ-C1300U and the specs are here:
http://panasonic.ca/English/car/cara...yers/specs.asp

It has 2 x 2.5V preouts for front/rear.

I would like to add an amp and sub. Just something basic. I have noticed that higher end decks have a preout for the subwoofer as well. My deck doesn't seem to have an actual subwoofer preout, so is this going to be a problem? If I just use the rear preout on this deck, what difference would there be and what noticeable difference is there between using this preout and using the subwoofer preout that other decks have?
Thanks

Just use the rear preouts as the sub control. You can use the fader as a level control between that and your full range speakers.

A dedicated sub out sometimes has a crossover and level adjustability. Don't worry about it.

A sub out is not really necessary but with it you will be able to control just the sub volume without effecting the rest of the speakers in the car, it is nice to have but you dont need to have it. By using the rear out of the deck you have when ever you make changes to the bass setting on your deck it will also effect the sub, if you can live with that your set.
