Which subwoofer would best suit the Audison LRX 1.1k ?

I'm basically just looking for one woofer - 12" preferably - that can be wired to 1 ohm (so I guess it's got to be 2 ohm DVC) with maybe 800-900W RMS power handling.

Thanks in advance for replies.

That question's about as open ended as they come.....

Without knowing your taste in music, system details, what you plan to do with the system, etc...

I'm going to say buy a Hertz sub... sure... buy a Hertz ... why? because audison amp is known for SQ so SQ sub... Hertz :dunno: lol

Honestly man, go out and demo subs until you see/hear/feel something you like, then remember that it still might not sound like that in your vehicle, because every vehicle sytle yields different results. Then there is the whole enclosure type thing... There are literally thousands of subs you could use.

Maybe post up some options and share some more details, then we have something to go off of. :smokin:

JL AUDIO 12W6 obviously

Amp is rated at:
1090 Watts RMS @ 1 Ohm
800 Watts RMS @ 2 Ohms
420 Watts RMS @ 4 Ohms

So I dont think it makes much of a difference if it is a 1 or 2 ohm load

You make a good point, I wasn't very specific. :P Sound quality is very important to me, because if I went with a sloppy sub, the accuracy of the LRX is going to be wasted. (I must note that I have a JVC CS GW1200 350WRMS currently hooked up so basically any sub of good quality would be a massive improvement). I'm just looking for a subwoofer that is going to sound crisp and clear, even at low frequencies, say in rap or hip hop, and at higher frequencies like, a higher end bass line, I'm most likely going to have the LP filter set at ~100Hz - because that's about where my mid range speakers cut off - if that makes any difference. I'm not looking for a specific be all and end all answer but I'd really just like some input so I'd have an idea where to start looking and what brands are going to basically make the best quality subwoofer.

Is running in 2 ohms vs 1 ohm going to have any effect on power consumption? I heard that 1 ohm is less efficient.

Can you hear the difference in 300 watts?

... more power produced more power consumed, the efficiency change would be statistically unimportant

very little difference, many will have a hard time telling any difference
