suggestions for a 3000W+ RMS Amplifier 1Ω stable

I want an amp that puts out 3000W+ RMS and peaks at or over 6000W. Sound quality is very important to me. I have been looking at the following but would welcome any other suggestions:

JBL A3000GT: These are not easy to find anymore and I do not know if they are 1Ω stable. I could go with the A6000GT but that would be severe overkill and much more expensive.

MTX TE4001D: I like MTX but have heard that their power supplies can be a little dirty and they draw alot of current (of course they also put out more than their rating too so I think that could be why)

Soundstream xxx-6500D: A little overkill but for the price I might as well go bigger than the xxx-4000D. These are decent amps but perhaps not the best for sound quality and I have heard that they have power supplies similar or perhaps worse than MTX.

Memphis MC1.4000 (MOJO): I have no experience with Memphis and can not find much info on this amp. Some say they are good, others say don't bother.

MA Audio HK8025X or HK10KA: I have no experience with MA Audio and can not find much info on these amps.

military intelligence came up with that one actually

but i guess ill be serious...3kw and sound quality in car audio just dont go together not trying to say its going to sound like total ass, but you are not going to be winning any sound contests.

lol, not like class AB sound quality or anything. I just want it to be clean that's all. Besides, with that much power it aught to sound pretty crisp no matter what but I still want to make a good choice on an amp.

I listen to a lot of electronic and industrial, so there are lots of double kicks and various bass notes, not just the same thump over and over.

I doubt that the SS XXX 6500 would give you 3000 watts on 12 volts. I tested the XXX10K and only got 3000 watts on 12 volts at 0.5 ohms on a daily setup and made dirty power, but 16 volts was much better around 7500 watts.

atomic makes a nice 3000 watt amp

Forget the peak rating, it means nothing.

As listed in my sig...
MTX Thunder 92001
Birthsheet at around 4000W RMS @ 1ohm and strappable.
Class D and draws up to 300A at 1ohm.

Forget MA Audio.
Mixed feelings about Sounstream, unless it's their very high end.
Memphis is supposed to be good.
JBL I would also go with.

there is a difference between an amp that WILL produce 3000 watt in a real life amplication and an amp that is rated to do 3000 watts at 1 ohm.

none of the amps you listed will do 3000 watts.

they are capable of doing 3000 watts at 1 ohm, but in reality you wont have a 1 ohm load after the impedance rise. It goes up as soon as subs start to move. So when hooked up at 1 ohm the amp will end up seeing 3 ohm or more.

if you REALLY need 3000 watts that badly at all times you need to buy an amp that is rated much higher than 3000 watts at 1 ohm.

I have some 5,000 watt amps for sale here, http://www.canadiancaraudio.com/onli...-spl-amps.html

those will give you around 3,000 rms after the impedance rise when hooked up at 1 ohm.

Listen to that UUUli guy. 3k wrms+ is about the low end of his territory (if even).
I'm only mentioning this because you are new to the board, but do a search on him. If he says an amp will/wont do rated, then i would tend to believe him, based on his experience.

DISCLAIMER: I dont know, have never bought anything off him, never met him, and actually take umbridge at being called a cheap bastard :), however, I think he knows his stuff.

Cheers

John
