surround ripped

I have a matts 10" sub that has a small split in the rubber surround.
The sub is still good but I have to fix the rip...what can I use to do this?

If you get non-toxic silicone, you should be able to patch that up without any problems (just do it on the inside so it looks better)

Okay, just make sure to read the label, and make sure it say's non-toxic. Because if you get one that's toxic, it could eat your sub. (I think most are non-toxic nowa days though)

ideally you want something that will bite into the surround and form a permanent bond.... however, butyl rubber is inert as all **** and I don't think you will find too many adhesives that will eat into it...

Id might say 'goop' is your best bet but I generally use plain old contact cemenet... :)

Yeah, butyl is a tough one... I second the 'Goop'.

I would like to be using the clarion stuff but right now I am leaning towards PG simply becouse the rep for clarion is not comming through for Karl (no e-mails or calls)
the matts sub is for a customer.
