swapping parts between similar headunits

I have a Nak CD-35z and a Nak CD-45z. The 45 stopped reading discs a while back and now won't even accept a disc to be inserted. The 35z works fine. Can I simply swap the part between the two units or are they different? Is there anything I could try to fix the 45 before I start playing doctor frankenstein?

Why not just use the CD-35z?

45z has 4V out and aux-in.
35z has 2V out and no aux-in.

If they're both sharing similar transport and control board/s (any attached pcbs) it should just be a straight swap over. If they look different, you may still be in luck. Check to see if they are sharing the mechanism, but not the control boards. If so, you can just switch the boards around. If nothing is similar, it's an involved process that may not be worth doing (to me at least)

Hope this helps!
