Switching from dual 12" to single 12"

Okay here's the deal. I'm planning to switch from my current dual 12" sealed enclosure to a single ported 12" enclosure

Current:
Rockford Fosgate Punch Stage 1 12" subwoofers bridged (150w rms each)
Sealed box

Plans:
Infinity Perfect 12" subwoofer (350w rms)
Ported box

I think the advantage of this will be more trunk space. The disadvantage will be less bass? Will the bass be clearer? Or louder? Basically I do not know what the outcome will be. Looking for some advice and experience

In either case, the amp I am using is a Rockford Fosgate 360a2 running in 4-ohm which will produce 360w rms of power

ported boxes are actually supposed to be bigger then sealed boxes.

I think he means that he has less volume for 1 12" ported than he has the 2 12" in a sealed box. A ported Inf. Perfect should hit harder than 2 of those rockfords in a sealed box.

Just curious, but does anyone have any benchmarks of a 12" sub in a sealed vs ported SPL benchmark?

It'd be hard to establish a "benchmark", there are a million variables between ported and sealed.

I'm thinking if I should put the perfect into a sealed box instead of a ported. How you think it would sound?

If its volume you want, I would stick with the bass reflex idea. ;)

Best,
Mark

Okay now I've narrowed it down to a few subs, now I need some more feedback!

JL Audio 13w3v3
Image Dynamics ID12D2 v.3
RE Audio SR12
Kicker 12" CompVR
Kicker 12" CompVT

That is the order according to price with JL being the most pricey. Any recommendations?

Yes, if it output levels that you are after, then going from two subs to one means that you really need to start looking closer at the choice of sub and especially the box. Custom build the box for whatever the sub may be that you purchase. If you are after loud, consider the Digital Designs subs, the DD1512 is the weapon of choice to look at here. In the proper box it will deliver accurate bass response across the frequency range and will absolutely hammer out the bass when tasked.

ID12 gets loud in a 1cube sealed, If you put it in a 1.3 - 1.5 cube ported I think it will be doing some serious shaking. The only JL I would consider that is not a w7 is a w6v2. People say w3s are really not worth the money.

I would have liked the w6v2 as well but it's dual 4 ohm. I need to present my amp with a single 4 ohm load. My 360a2 produces 360 watts rms when bridged into one channel
