Switching remote (blue lead) to Amplifier

I am wiring up a Slash 1000/1 and was wondering if I put a switch between the deck remote and the amp is the amp going to remain off or is it going to sense the signal coming from the RCA and turn on.

I don't listen to music all the time when I am working with the car or I will listen to self improvement / motivational stuff which really does not require that kind of low frequency amplification. It seems its a big load on the electrical system that would be nice to be able to run just when I want it to.

Thanks

if the amp has a dedicated REM (remote turn on) then no, it will not turn on because of the RCA's.
Some amps can sense through other means but they will not have REM wires.

I really wouldn't worry too much about putting a switch in though. The draw from the amp will only be large when you are demanding it. It just idling or at a very low volume, the draw will not be that big at all.
even so, you shouldn't have issues.

With the switch flopped in the off position the amp will not turn on.
