I was looking at an amp and it said not to connect the left and right stereo signals on amp to left and right preout on headunit. It says to use either the left OR right on the headunit then attach a y-adapter to split the one line in two and connect both those to the amp to achieve a mono signal. Is this only if the headunit does not have a sub dedicated preout and you are using the rear preout?
