All that money for nothing... thats pretty funny.

Well if you feel I wasted money thats fine , I can't hear the differance in the setup ,
the 300watt kenwood was old amp , a 3 way amp I think
I couldn't find specs on it ,Model number Kac 6085 so thats 300watts MAX.
I had tried the 10" PG with a better amp before I bought this stuff and really it just didn't sound right to me .
, the new amp is 600Watts max it's 300watts RMS.
so in your thinking that I bought a 300 watt amp to replace a 300 watt amp doesn't sounds right ,
I bought a 600watt amp to replace the 300watt amp.
the PG10" may be a decent sub but never sounded right since we bought them from International .(I bought my sub used)
I was going to go with the D1200 but I didn't have enough on me this week
if you think so or not it's a night and day differance .

and it's no real loss , I will just buy a differant box for the 10" and drop it in to my camaro.

More important than the block is making sure both amps are grounded at the same location.

Hehe, I guess it's a question of what you're used to.....for me an E-350 Extended cargo van is huge.....try getting decent SPL in a mobile metal can with 800cuft or so of air space......

Going from a ported 10" to a sealed 12" will not be as much of an improvement as you might be looking for tho.....if it was me I would make or buy a proper size ported box for that sub. With a little work you could make a box that will fit under the rear seats in the truck.

Also from an SQ point of view, I would use that Kenwood to run your rear speakers. I'm assuming you now have the 4channel Alpine running the 4 corners. The Kenwood will give you more power and if you decide to add tweeters up front, running the fronts actively crossed over on the Alpine will improve the SQ yet again.

Chimera - my original statement was based on you saying you you had replaced a 300watt Kenwood amp with a 300watt Orion amp. You did not state the Kenwood was a MAX rating of 300watts.

Like I stated, if the new setup sounds good to you that's all that's important.

I was planning on adding the tweeters with inline crossovers off the alpine
The Kenwood is a nice amp but I have more control over the settings with the Alpine .
and yeah I should have adding in the first place that the kenwood amp only had a max out put of 300 watts ,
I can't really seem to find any specs online of the kenwood amp I only know that with an opitonal part it can run in try mode . I don't think the amp liked running in 2ohm either.
it looks like this one here but in a 300watt max output

I'm sure with the right box and amp that the PG would sound good. I will have to see when I put it in the camaro next summer.

a sub it self won't fit under any of the seats (rear or front) with out a box I'm thinking it won't fit with a box either.

this is the alpine amp I have

and this is the deck I have http://cgi.ebay.com/Alpine-CDA-7995-CD-MP3-Receiver-4V-PreOut-AI-Net-XM_W0QQitemZ220047549714QQihZ012QQcategoryZ39750QQ ssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I was luck enough to buy the deck alpine amp and PG sub 5 years ago from a friend that bought the stuff and went a different way with his setup , the cost to me was only a couple hundred bucks.

the 6x9's and kenwood amp I picked up from a family member that bought them and never used them , just did some horse trading.
