Money isn't that big of a deal. My parrents are paying for my vehicle so i can put all the money i want into the system. I wont drive it all winter so i dont have to worry about insurance/gas ect ect on it untill the snow goes away. It will be in the garage where i can work on it alot.
So if i went with this system
3X Alpine SWR-1242D 12" 1500 Watts Subwoofer
2X Alpine MRD-M1005 1-Channel Amplifier (1 for subs 1 for mid)
1X Alpine DVA-9965 DVD/CD/MP3/WMA Headunit
Should i go with alpine mids and tweets? Would it be better to go with a component system or buy everything separate?
What about capacitors? batteries?
I'm sorry to ask so many questions. Are there any links where i can just read up on this stuff that isn't on a forum?

I could be wrong but i see a couple problems with your selections:
1) running the three dual 4ohm subs you will present a load of 2.67ohm to the mrd-m1005 (it is only 2ohm stable) resulting in much less than 300 watts a driver (those subs would like almost double that power)
2) you are planning to run mid-bass off another mrd-1005? whatever speakers you are getting must be able to handle a fair amount of power (350w each) from that mono amp. Why not get the multi-channel MRV-545 for your speakers, or if you are getting the dvd head unit the MRA digital theater amp is perfect for your system and will provide 5.1 surround sound processing, and have an additional center channel output if you choose to go there (alpine makes a kick *** single-din center channel speaker, although you probably don't have a double din car...)
3) you might get some benfit from a 1 or 2 farad capacitor, but this is not a solution to electrical problems. Upgrading to an Optima Yellowtop battery will help, and upgrading your alternator is probably not nessecary at this point.
Sounds like you have a pretty decent size budget and the gear you have choosen sould kick *** in the proper install. I have one of the MRD-1005 and I love it, alpine makes pretty good stuff. I would go alpine with the speakers too, just to keep it all alpine.
Just my $.02, good luck with the system.
