What’s a good touch screen cd player? Has DVD, cd playing capabilities. Does Sony make any thing good (J/K)? Just pulling your leg. Clarion, alpine, Rockford, Kenwood, pioneer, Panasonic (not a big fan of these guy's). Any of these guy's make good one's? List any other companies that I may have forgotten (I'm having a brain cramp). GPS would be a nice extra to have.

DON'T SELL ME ANY THING. I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY FOR ONE OF THESE THINGS. IM JUST LOOKIN TO SEE WHAT COMPNAY MAKE'S GOOD ONE'S.

I know this sounds cheesy, but in all honesty Pioneer OWNS the in-dash DVD monitor category. Pioneer makes the #1 (AVIC-N1) & #2 (AVH-P6600DVD) selling units in Canada.

The AVIC-N1 is unique in that is an "all-in-one" unit with radio, CD, DVD & GPS.

The AVH-P6600DVD is more or less the same thing without GPS.

In about a months' time, you will see up to six different in-dash touch panel monitors from Pioneer with two of them having GPS.

No disrespect Pioneer guy, but I have not seen a better screen than the Alpine DVA 901. The Pioneers look like garbage next to one. I have seen the two side by side and its not even close. That also goes for a large number of screens available out there. I have still yet to see a better screen. Combine the DVA 901 with the PXA 700 processor and you will have a hard time finding somthing that beats it.

Now saying that, the Alpine stuff is more money. Money well spent I think.

Check out the Macrom stuff too. They are a real up and comer in the multi-media technology.

Hey Fat,

No disrespect taken! The D901 is an awesome screen but really not an "apples to apples" comparison.

One thing that you may have overlooked though is that the originator of this post is looking for a touch screen.

Touch panel visual performance will always suffer compared to a non-touch panel screen due mainly to the extra layer of electronics required to sense the touch.

I have a one month old Pioneer 6500 with another 4 years warrenty on it if you're interested.

I did in fact notice that he was looking for a touchscreen. I feel that the "coolness" of a touchscreen isn't worth the loss in picture quality. Because in all reality, what does touchcreen do for you? Nothing. I would much rather take higher screen quality over the touch screen gizmo.
