Oh My Gosh! Defro and Dukk agreeing on the same thing? (that Phil is a great guy, which is true!) Is the world coming to an end? Kinda like Pro Wrestling when the good guy is bad / bad guy is good -- for all we know Dave and Paul could be terminating flats of Mountain Crest every odd weekend and these little spats are just for show
I am loyal to Phil and Karz Electronics. Phil has done great things for us and helped us in anyway that he can. I know what basicly happened but will not get into it but it had nothing to do with Phil and I as a dealer will support Phil in whatever new lines he decides to go with as I know it will be a good product. Nothing against Trends as there are a good distibutor as well
A lot of the opinions and statements mentioned are very true and interesting. Phil and the Karz Team are are fantastic bunch, and I agree that they did a great job with the Audison brand. I have no beef with dealers wanting to support the suppliers that have given them great service in the past with their new product lines.
However, to think that because a product that has gone to a new distributor is going to mess things up - you couldn't be further wrong!
Trends has made a commitment to support the heck out of the existing dealers. We asked them what they wanted to see from us going forward.
One of the things that came up was that a storefront was opened up with the brand - BEFORE we took over - and it pissed a lot of the existing dealers off - we listened to that and removed that dealer from our distribution. Did that **** that dealer off - absolutely !! Did we stand to lose some very good business with that dealer - absolutely !!
But on the large picture - we showed everyone that we were serious about keeping this brand clean - profitable and proved our commitment to the existing dealers that had built the brand up - we were going to stand behind them.
There were so many rumours flying around - Trends was going to open up more dealers - not true, we cut the existing distribution.
Trends was going to increase the price of the product - not true, we lowered the pricing quite substantially and left the retails open. If you wanted to keep selling the product and the old prices - go ahead.
And Trends wasn't going to be able to give the kind of support that Karz did - well that will remain to be seen - we've only had the brand for just over 2 weeks !!
But my dealers will get the heck supported out of them - as I'm sure the rest of the country will too.
Trends is a fantasic organization - even before I worked for them, I supported the heck out them, because Miles and Trends took care of us. That was what interested me in going to work for them.
The sad part about any organization, is that it's reputation is based on the front line guys - the sales reps - F.S. has had a bad rap in the past because if it's sales staff - F.S. as a company is very well run and is very rpofitable.
If anyone feels that their sales rep is not giving them the service and support that they feel they should be getting, then you should let them know - or let their bosses know.
Even in the past if I had what I felt was a shi**y rep - it really wouldn't bother me - as long as the company treated me right and the products were good - I would support those brands - the rep - I just would deal with him.
Audison is a kick *** product - and Dave O is right - you just dont replace a brand like Audison.
The support will be there - the pricing is better - and the distribution is clean - lets move on and see what happens.
