Is that safe to connect the remote wire from the amp to a cig lighter 12+? Cuz my Factory head unit dont have a remote out.

Find a 12v key on source(fuse panel), tap into it, fuse it and add a switch.

the remote wire does require a constant power for the amp to stay on.... for example.... if you take the remote wire for the amp and touch the postive on the battery the amp comes on... u take the wire off the battery and the amp turns off.

so what you should be doing is exactly what buzz said find a constant power wire and fuse it then put a switch in up at the front so you can manually turn your amp off when not using it... or if you want to get fancy you can hook it up to your ignition to turn the amp on every time you turn the car on.

connecting the remote to a cig lighter probably would work as long as u fused the wire and put a switch in... although using the cig lighter sounds ghetto to me... :cheeky4:

^ Yes its safe, the cig lighter has its own fuse.

you could also use a audio signal sensing remote trigger module from PAC.....PAC TR-4

as well as the cig lighter circuit is usually a switched output as well, so it won't be on if the car isn't running, or in the ACC position... thus not killing your battery when the car is off.

I'd still opt for finding a switched output from somewhere else though...

I am in the same situation right now. I just looped a wire on the amp from power to remote with a switch inbetween. No running wires, but I have to open the trunk to turn it on/off.

answer is YES

My GM has a separate fuse labeled RAP, remote accessory power. I downsized the 25 amp fuse to 5 and use it for my LOC and remote turn on.
