The amplifer doesn't care, but the speaker does. Lower resistance in the circuit usually means that you have less control over the speaker cone. Louder, but not tighter.

Remember an amplifier is a voltage source that also produces current in response to a closed circuit. the speaker is the passive component, the amplifier is the active piece. The voltage and current source has to overcome resistance, inductance, capacitance and CEMF produced by the speaker. A speakers impedance is not constant with frequency so the amp must perform well into both high and low impedance's.

A high impedance load requires less current from the amplifier for a given power, a low impedance load will suck more current from the amplifier for a given power. A high impedance load requires more volts to produce the same power from the amplifier, a low impedance load will require fewer volts from the amplifier to achieve a given power.

I believe he is refering to Fosgate Power and Punch series 1000.1 monoblocks. Biggest concern would probably be the Damping Factor. If at final load, the DF drops to lower than 25, it will sound very muddy. Safe zone is 25-100 for most people. Amp DF is usually rated at 4 ohms. Everytime you half the impedence - you half the DF. At 25 and above you should have good enough speaker control. Some amps are rated over 1000, which is really overkill. The difference is inaudible, but it looks good on paper.

Oh, and Power series is a better amp.
