trunk pressure problem

last weekend i've put my lastest creation in my car(not my first speakers enclosure but my first sub enclosure).It is 2 sealed enclosure each about 0.65 sqft with two of the market most innexpensive subs;Clarion's SW1051(paid 55$ each).They sucks but i'm quite impressed by the result.the power andling is horrible(they are out at about 120-140W each with bass set to 0)but the bass is ok at low volume.

the real problem is that my trunk is sealed from the interior of my car...The fact that you cant flip the seat is a pain in the *** for the instalation.And the rear speaker worst nightmare.the pressure in the trunk is very high and the rear speakers(stock 6x9) wich are on the top of the back seat are moving as the subs are but with some retard creating some rumble in the bass and a muddy sound from the speakers.

what are the solutions in this situation?

remove the rear speakers and relieve pressure.

I had this problem with my car but i didn't like driving with seats down. I had componetns up front so rears are kinda pointless.

I had less rattling by removing rear speakers as well.

Agreed, yank the rears out. I can fold my seat down and still pulled my rears out. Do you have a pic of the sub? I have 2 SSW1001's and with 1100wrms they have hit 142.1db. Paid $305 for the pair with waranty. :smilie_da Maybe try them in a ported box? :dunno:

x3 on just yanking them out. You don't really need rears. If your one of the guys that happen to like rear sound then get some of them molds that covers the rear of the speakers. This will stop the subs from pushing them around. They are usually made with some flimsy material (thin plastic, or foam), but a little fiberglass & resin ... they will work perfectly.

ok i will try to take them off even if it doesn't look very easy because i have to rip the carpet off and cut the grills with a grinder or something like that because they are welded to the frame.this sould be doable.Making it look great after will be much tuffer.

and 420 you are talking about a pair that cost 3 times mine.I dont think these are up to compare mine are paper thin plastic cone with half the max travel of yours.

and my front speakers are blown since I ve bought the car so if i yank the rears out i need to put new in front wich are the best uner 120$ assuming that they are pluged in the head unit amp (they are 6.5 inch round speakers and i need flush mount)

you can always just port your rear deck of your car. most have multiple holes that you can cut the rear deck material and make them. Works just as good as taking out your speakers.

No, I had to work the whole day. Will be in Barrie next week though.
