Truth in wattage ratings for audio equipment petition
Which would be okay except that now we have Future shop, Best buy, CDN tire, & Walmart, etc selling car audio now. Try getting anything answered by the guys working there. The most common answer is HUH I don't know let me ask. 
Personally I know better than to buy anything at these places, so do most of the forum members. Ahhh so when I was showing you my system and you nodded and said it was sick LOL

As far as best buy and future shop goes, sales people there might know a thing or two but it's not in their best interest to speak the truth.

Ahhh so when I was showing you my system and you nodded and said it was sick LOL I understand now LOLyou hit the nail on the head. there main goal is to sell you the most expensive product possible. if you go in and say i want a loud system, they're gonna give you the most expensive equipment you have. a buddy of mine fried a pioneer woofer there cause he didnt want it anymore and had a protection plan. (he used my amp @ 2 ohms) i told the guy that the coils were reading rediculous numbers on a multimeter. he looked at me like i said something in hebrew.
to conclude, this petition is made i believe to try and help educate those who are stickly non car audio looking for decent products. if ratings are kept true, the buyer can better choose his product. a 2000W american bass amp or a 2000W power acoustik amp... you choose
