Turn On Thump Help
#1
Hey, I am running a really old no name amp for now, it thumps badly on startup and shutdown. I googled for more info, found mention of making a delay module, but was wondering if anyone could give me some more in-depth info on making one, using relays I assume. Thanks!

In that case a delay on hte amp itself isn't really going to help anything.
You could try a relay on each speaker lead to the speakers turning on after the amp powers up and before it powers down butit's a bit of a PITA...

Does this old school amp have a B+ (red wire) connection?
If so, you must supply ignition to the amplifier(via the DIN plug) and B+ provides 12V+ ignition to the deck. In this case the amp is on before the deck, and the amp turns on the deck.
What amp is it?
BTW some old amplifiers came with rubber grommets for installation, to prevent the amplifier chassis from grounding to the vehicle chassis, so if you have it bolted to metal, try wood.

Thanks Eli, it has a Red, Black, and pink (remote turn on lead) coming out of the amp. It is a brand I have never seen before, Hi Tech I think it is called, made in Korea, probably late 80's early 90's. I have not even mounted it down to anything, it thumped before off of another deck, also.
