Friend at work is looking to replace his audio system, he has the Bose set up with speakers everywhere. Just can't find the tweets, are they on a plate with the front door speakers? The A-frame is solid so I doubt they are behind it. Any one know?

I already asked Rob(MR2NR) for some hints on what Double Din's he'd recommend (must have EQ, X-over, TA, USB, Ipod, Nav, etc..) but I'd like to ask the CCA nation for suggestions also.

One last thing how the hell would one go about keeping the center channel and the rear doors for an amp set up? the rear deck has 6x9's acting as subs so i'll disregard them for the time being. Most music played is metal and def. not a competitor just a happy cruiser like me.

Thx

thoughts on the kenwood excelon 9960? Seems to have most things I mentioned above in a double din size with a center channel pre-out.

Unless you spend a ton of money, anything you will put in there will likely be a downgrade if you plan on changing all the speakers.

His biggest issue is his inability to control his sounds(highs, mids and lows) he has bass and treble control but that's it. For a stock system it does sound really well, but he wants to be able to fine tune the sound. He's aware of what a aftermarket HU will most likely cost him so he's willing to do this one piece at a time if he has to.
