First let me say I like the type X, it is a very very good SQ woofer.

I am not sure it is a very good SPL woofer, you should be able to hit 140's give or take on your set up. I really like them but I would not seriously consider them for SPL. I like them as an inexpensive option to W7 and XXX type speakers

PLEASE let us know how you did, I am rooting for you

not sure at all on what you will hit, but dont expect 140 or anything.
most likely lower 130's to a possible mid 130. type x is a great sq sub, and they will get fairly loud, but nothing earth shatering. imo they are one of the best sq subs in their price range.

well speaking from some experience, you should hit around 138.9 to 139.8... I remember I hit in around there, can't remember what one though (I think it was 138.9) and thats with 1 12" type x in a pre fab box untuned in my trunk. it was running off the MRD-1005 alpine amp... It hits a decent note... I'd like it to be louder though

its this sunday so we'll see what happens.

my set up is 2 10" type-x's port up subs up in a mx-3 hatch back...
2.5 cubic feet box slot ported.

Im running a mrd-m1005 at 4ohm to the subs... 700watts to the 2 subs...
im going to bridge the subs down to 2 ohm and that will give about 1100watts to the subs...

a friend of mine hit 126db with his 2 type-r's in a *** fiber glass box i swear the god his speakers made more bass then subs...
2 type r's at 126 db must have been due to the box, and or power. those subs can get real loud. type r> type x in spl apps. given enough power in a good box, they can do very good.
