Move that amp of the top of the box and look at all the room you now have. The amps can be mounted on the backside of the box, in front of the box, to the sides of the trunk....

I have tried a single 12" sub like that before, its possable I could go back to that, just that I already have a 10" and those are supposed to be better for the type of music I listen to

could two 12"s fit in the back of the trunk?

Easily...but if you do 2 10W6's in a ported enclosure with a 500/1 each or a 1000/1 for the pair, you won't even care how big the drivers are...

I've always understood that 10's were better for techno music as they move faster or something like that

won't I run into the problem of power supply with 1000/1 amp?

Generaly speaking, 10's will have better response than 12's but only when power is an issue (lack of power that is). If ou have adequate power then 12 inch subs are just as reponsive as 10's but are louder!!

Go with the 12 inch sub if you are only going with one!!!

well, if you're going to make any move that will increase the output, there may be power issues....have you done any upgrades to the electricals yet??

I did once have a larger alternator, it didn't work good at idle so I wen't back to the stock alternator

I have a red top altima battery, best thing I could get out of walmart after replacing the previous battery through the warrenty
if the 1000/1 drew too much juice then I would be kinda in a pickle

Did you try taking the larger one back where you got it first to see what was wrong with it??

Have you upgraded the wiring under the hood??....if nothing else, putting in larger wire from the battery to ground and the 2 alternator wires should help with the larger amp.

HTH

tried that once already, they couldn't correct the problem so lived with it for awhile until the car almost died in stop and go traffic, got a new stock altanator from part source and got $50 for the old one, was in Barrie at the time and the old one came from a place in Whitby. Just happy to have things working properly again.

I've looked at those wires and can't see where they connect to and anyways they are pretty beefy wires to begin with.

right now I've purchased a new head unit, JVC it has 5volt pre outs for front.rear.sub, after that is installed I'll decide if a larger sub is needed
my current deck only has 2.5volt pre outs front.rear so I'm hoping for a better signal
