Urgent! How to connect the tweeters w/my new amp?

my car has no amp originally
the tweeters are in the door. i don't wanna tear down the door to change the tweeters
but my new amp just has 4-ch, 2 for front, 2 for rear
how to connect the tweeters w/my new amp? twist the lines of the tweeter w/the lines of the front speakers that output from the amp? will it burn the tweeters?
thx!

Just run them in parrallel with the front speakers but make sure you cap the tweeters.

negative. i disagree with you both. first, how much power does this amp put out. second, you need a high pass crossover for the tweeter, not a cap.

if your changing the mid-bass, u may as well change the tweeter as well. if its any respectable amp i'm almost assured that you will implode the tweeter. especially if you do not put it on a high pass filter. it may last at low volume for a while, but the more volume, the drastically shorter lifespan it will have.

^^certainly a better way to go...depends on your level of commitment and involvement. The cap is still better than nothing at all though.

if the amp u plan to run has a high pass crossover built into it....run the tweeter on the front channel, run the front midbass on the rear channel, then u have a bi-amp setup and leave the rear speakers on head unit power.

^^that's a good suggestion!

A capacitor in line with a tweeter would be a simple first order passive network (6 dB/Octave) whose high pass will be determined by the value of the capacitor selected.

who's to say the simple capacitor would survive all the watts being passed through it.

^ the voltage rating of the capacitor used would be taken into consideration.
