USAMPS has always been a great amp manufacture. However there new XT or Xterminator Series amps are not a classic USAMPS product build in attempting to enter in the entry level market. There AX is great and there Merlin is an in between sort of line. There are ok though. I perfer the Sundown Audio SAZ1500D. Its a really nicely built amp over all. But to answer your question. The USAMPS are nice but expensive. And my choice is the Sundown's as a less expensive and more powerful alternative.

Your kidding right? Sundown is not even in the same league as the md or ax series amps by US amps. I have installed many of these amps and they are a quality product. I'm not saying Sundown isn't good but don't put down one product to big up another that you sell.

Don't get me wrong, I have bought and sold USAMPS for years now and the I said the AX is great. And I am authorized to sell them just as you are. And if you put a 1500W MD up against a Sundown 1500W amp I would put my money on the Sundown. I have seen both products and sell both. You only sell USAMPs so maybe that comment upset you becuase I can just as easy buy the USAMPS and sell that. But dollar for dollar and power for power I would do the Sundown. It is known that the MD amps sometimes are flakey and some have complained about the reliablity of the MD line. Trust me I am a HUGH HUGH USAMPS fan from way back when they were on the west coast. And with there new marketing plan on the XT line xt800.2 800max and 300-400rms with a 25amp fuse they are not the same company. They have different goals in mind now. And like I said the AX and tube line are second to none. The Sundown's though a new company have a 0% failure rate as of today. They may not have the hugh name or years and years of sales but I do believe they will have great product for years to come and start to get a little more of the respect they deserve.

I've never had an MD amp come back so I have no clue what you are talking about there. I would love to put a Sundown next to an MD2 just to compare the two. I will just have to pick one up so I can give it a proper review. The Xterminator line is a entry level line so how can you even say that the US amps direction has changed. They still have the same parts on their higher end amps that will satisfy anyones power needs.

No No im not saying it that way about there entry level gear. Im just saying that the old USAMP company as we knew didn't want anything to do with that market and was just concerned with hand building some of the greatest amps ever built. And yes I agree the AX is still 99% the same build quality and most definately agree will satisfy anyones needs without a doubt
