USB Drive help

Hey guys i have a new Kenwood excelon HU with the USB drive.. Im not very good with computers and or burning music LOL. I know your probably thinking WTF. Would like to know to easiest and best method for copy music from my computer to USB stick. While keeping SQ in mind.

Also my bro has Hundreds of CDs i would like to copy them to my computer and then finally to USB drive without compromising SQ is this possible? Can they be copied to USB stick as cd files and not MP3s, like a direct copy? How do i do this.

Thanks for your help.

Use 'Media Player' or something similar to rip the CD's to MP3s.....set the bitrate to at least 128KB/sec, higher will sound better but take more space. CD quality is 320KB/sec.

The difference in SQ may be drowned out by road noise depending on your vehicle......

The ripping program will write MP3 tags for each file, it will also sort them according to how you set it up before you start ripping. Once you have all the MP3s in a folder on your computer you can just copy the whole folder to the stick with Windows Explorer.....

A 320 bit rate is not CD quality. 1411 bit rate is (wav). The only way your deck will play wav is through a big iPod. a WAV song is 50mb.
Use itunes or mediaplayer and rip at 320. Your file structure has to be - 250 folders, 250 subfolders and 250 songs per folder. It also has to be in FAT16 or 32.
Itune allows you to select an entire playlist and drop it in a folder.

I have a Kenwood DNX 5120 and in order to sort alphabetically on my thumbdrive I use a program called Drivesort as kenwood willl only display what was last written, not alphabetically (hopefully this is not on every kenwood), I have also read of people using Mediamonkey to manage your files with
