am/fm antenna to replace oem

anyone have experience with a good aftermarket am/fm antenna to replace my oem in glass antenna. Wondering about these little 3" carbon fibre or aluminum ones as well as the metra amplified one that sticks on the inside of your windshield. I'd prefer not to drill a hole in the car if possible.

Sorry man, I've never dealt with something like that. We get the odd car in with a broken or no antenna and I usually string a couple of feet of primary wire through the dash which sounds crude but satisfies most people.

The metra works quite well. We've used acouple that the AM didnt work, but that's probably 1 in 20 or so. Out here we use them all the time for boats and side-by-side quads.

thanks bro, that's what i was hoping. My oem antenna is built into the windshield and it's not working properly, so this thing should do the trick. Truth is, I don't listen to am that often, but occasionally I like to catch a few talk shows. I'l grab one this week and try it out.

I hooked up one the other day (not sure on make) the guy couldn't get it working properly until I hooked up the power antenna wire. It definitely had more stations after that

I got one this weekend and hooked it up...works very well! At least as good as the oem antenna (when it worked) and possibly a little better as a few hamilton and buffalo stations are a bit cleaner. You definitely have to hook up the power wire and i mounted it behind the glove compartment right under the dash. Definitely a great buy for anyone that needs to replace their antenna and does not want to drill holes.
