Want to put a sub in my car - suggestions?

Hi guys
I have a 2009 mazda 3 and I am looking to add a little thump to the stock system without changing the headunit. I am a complete noob to car audio

so far I've come up with the following:

Bassworx 10" Subwoofer Sealed Box (PSW2541) - enclosure - $70
http://www.futureshop.ca/en-CA/product/bassworx-10-subwoofer-sealed-box-psw2541/10077477.aspx?path=12591f95e136ace3d4c8629cb562545 een02

Elemental Designs Sq10 Sub - $70

I have emailed them to see if this item is actually available for order

Amp
Not sure about this one...I think I should be looking for a 200W RMS 4 ohm single channel amp, but I really am not sure....any suggestions? I'd like to keep this around $100, and buying used is fine by me

Wiring Kit + LOC - $60 total?

So overall I am looking to spend approx $300-350 on this system

1) Would this sub be ok for this enclosure? The enclosure is 0.1 cubic fit larger then Sealed ( large ) specification on eD website, so I am not sure if its ok
2) Suggestions on a cheap amp to go along with this?
3) will I need a farad capicator?
4) if I install a sub, will the overall sound quality of my factory speakers be improved as well? i notice that guitar sound kind of muffled on it when im playing through my ipod

Thanks for your help guys, looking forward to learning alot more about car audio!

Well im also a newb, but I have a 10" JBL GTO powered by a Polk audio 400.1 amp. amp pushes 200 watts RMS at 4 ohms, and I have been super impressed with it. JBL sub is in a sealed box hidden in the trunk of my accord. If your willing to spend a little more I think a polk amp in around 200 dollars, be worth it in my inexperienced opinion :D

hate to sound like a broken record, but try JL audio for subs on a budget....

Look for a 4 channel jbl 75.4 I see them for $150 all the time... You will be able to use 2 channels to power your front speakers and bridge the other 2 channels for your sub... this amp will give you 80-140rms perchannel... giving you 280 to power a sub, for your application sounds fine...

The reason your speakers sound weak is because they are receiving a full range signal and this causes them to distort depending on how loud the volume is... You cannot have a kick drum play through a tweeter it just won't work. Get a decent LOC so you can send a low level signal to your amplifier, run a L/R speaker wire from the amp's channel 1 and 2 and tie it into your factory wiring for your front speakers... (also the amp has a lp/hpf/full switch to allow you to tune your crossover points) next bridge channels 3 & 4 and output this to your sub (providiing it is 4 OHM SVC)
