What battery?
What battery?
My battery has been giving out on me (not stereo related because I just installed my system and had this problem before) and it's time to change it. It is just a normal battery with no extra juice.
I headed to Canadian Tire to find a battery and I told the salesman that i do have a sound system. He suggested a higher performance battery that was about 110 or 120 bucks. He then showed me the super duper battery which was about 180 bucks. He told me that i would very likely not need the 180 dolar battery and that the 110 one would suffice.
What would you guys suggest? I have a 400 watt rms amp powering two 10" subs and a 4 channel 200 watt amp powering the four regular speakers. I don't want to spend a lot of money because I don't know how long I'll be keeping the truck. What should I be looking for in terms of CCAs?
Also, is worth getting a capacitor as well?
Thanks.

Skip the cap, you don't have a problem that a cap could fix (and even then they are way too expensive)
I would get the battery designed for the truck, you have a nice system, but low power draw so I wouldn't spent over 120 for a good wet cell. You should get by with a 85 dollar battery (if it has the CCA your vehicle needs)

CCA is cold cranking amps, this means that the battery can output a higher surge current (peak amp draw) when the cars starting, this typically is also good because that will mean that the battery is either physically larger which will have more current reserves or that it has a lower internal discharge and is able to be stressed a little more.
mine is the original size no bigger than the other and its a gel cell deep cycle.. maximum FX from napa. great battery for 300$ lol battery lasts 3.5hrs with system fully cranked ( approx 1400watts rms ) and was still holding a 12v. that was on my earlyer system
