i think we need to settle this once and for all. the best sub is a subway pizza sub with lettuce, and tomato.

No, it's the steak and cheese. Pizza subs are good, but they're not as accurate or tight sounding as the meatball or steak and cheese!
The meatball subs are loud, but they cause DC feedback, and can be quite uncomfortable and disturb others around you with the smell.

 

We all know there is no "best" sub but the question was for opinion and experience. Iw ill give you some opinion.

For SQ - (i hate to say it) the JL W7 or the XXX.

For SPL - Brahma, E12a, Memphis LVS (terrible expensive)

As far as Kicker goes, it's a great sub (the L7) but not near the best.

 

Performance of subs come down to the box and install.. I've seen the best of best subs do good and bad depending on that.. The L7's are one of the best subs out there IMO.. but hey what do i know [img]tongue.gif[/img]

 

They are a great sub but the L7 isn't near the best. How many SPL records does Kicker have with the L7??? Hell there weren't even that many L7's at the Comps this year and if there were the Solo X got waxed by Team RF subs.

I like the L7 and i am looking at buying one, but i know there are many far superior subs out there. The L7 is good for SPL and decent for SQ but subs like the Brahma, e12a, and Team RF will destroy them in SPL and tons of other subs are better for SQ. If you need examples of the SQ subs i will provide them as well but i dont think it's neccessary.
